PROGRAM DESIGN: RTS will operate a "Discover" program for youth ages 14-21 in underserved communities that will expose participants to careers and post-secondary options; teach skills in job-readiness/applied technology; spread financial literacy, education, mentorship and service learning; and connect participants to internships and/or middle-skills employment through the Summer Youth Employment Program.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The primary functions of the Job Developer are threefold: i) to manage corporate and community partnerships ii) to ensure that participants are clear on program goals, are given the direction and support they need to achieve those goals, are given regular and meaningful feedback on their work, are valued as employees, and are given multiple opportunities to grow and learn, and iii) perform outreach that connects participants to internships and/or middle-skills employment through the Summer Youth Employment Program. 

ORGANIZATIONAL ROLE:

  • Supervisor: Senior Program Director
  • Supervises: Older Youth
  • Max Hours: 30 per week
  • Days: 5 per week, Monday-Friday (April 1 - August 31)
  • Compensation: $18 per hour¬†

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate Discover program with an enrollment of 200 participants.
  • Develop, train, and supervise all Success Coaches and participants.
  • Manage staff evaluation process and conduct evaluations regularly.
  • Manage the placement of participants in internships and/or jobs that match their career interests.
  • Assure the "Pathways to Success" curriculum is being delivered and connecting to projects.
  • Maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders such as corporate and community partnerships.
  • Work with the Educational Specialist to ensure age-appropriate and engaging programming.
  • Work with HR Manager to ensure proper staffing and staff paperwork for program site.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to ensure proper licensing and program supply budget.
  • Work with the Senior Program Director to manage logistics and quality of program.
  • Ensure program database is updated weekly such as attendance, program schedule, etc.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned or requested by the Senior Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree in Education or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Candidates familiar with SYEP/DYCD regulations is preferred.
  • Must have two years of experience in supervision and program development.
  • Must have at least four years of experience in a mentoring/coaching setting.
  • To be motivated, energetic, punctual, and exhibit a positive attitude to be an excellent role model.
  • Ability to lead, teach, and interact with school administration, community, parents, students, and staff.
